South Forks Nanaimo River Community Association
Formed in 2020 to represent residents of the area between the Nanaimo River on the South, the Nanaimo water treatment plant on the North, Boulder Creek on the West and the water line trail on the East.
Incorporated as a society on November 14, 2020.
- The Association has advocated for the return of a tax levy that was started in 2005 to build a fire hall and was never and would never be built.
- Advocated for improved road maintenance.
- Advocated for measures to reduce illegal dumping in our community.
- Conducted successful annual community clean-ups.
Purpose of the South Forks Nanaimo River Community Association
This society is a member-funded society. It is funded primarily by its members to carry on activities for the benefit of its members.
To provide a voice for the residents of the South Forks Nanaimo River area on matters of interest and concern that may affect the community.
To provide information to the residents of South Forks on matters of community concern.
To provide a community voice when speaking to local and provincial government about community concerns and issues.
To provide a community voice when dealing with commercial and industrial users that might affect the community.
To secure the interest and cooperation of all community organizations in the purposes of the society.
To operate as a non-profit society and to raise money for the purposes of the society.
To do all things that are incidental and conducive to the above purposes.
